Penis Fracture
It is an injury that causes the rupture of one of the layers that surround the penis (tunica albuginea) generally in an erect state. A forced action is performed in 30-50% of patients during penetration. As a result, the erection is lost and it becomes inflamed due to the hematoma. Late complications such as deformity, curvatures during erection, pain during sexual intercourse, impotence and the inability to maintain sexual intercourse are frequent.
Immediate measures are aimed at reducing the degree of inflammation and the medium and long-term repercussions.
If the lesion is established, the patient must undergo a penoplasty to correct length and angulation to improve the state of flaccidity and erection, in addition to the use of activated growth factors derived from intralesional platelets and other state-of-the-art therapies.
